10/11 Pre-Season Update 2:
Wednesday, 25 August 2010

Dear IFFC teams,

We had a great turn out and good discussion at yesterday's IFFC Team manager meeting. Here are some important points which we discussed and settled at our meeting:

12th team Premiership How to decide for the team to play with us:
We decided to get more information out of each team wishing to join in order to make sure that they are fit for the Premiership. An idea would be to let the new team join under observation of it's first 3 matches. Latest after the 3rd game all IFFC Premiership teams will be asked to confirm the 12th teams. In case the majority of teams don't want the 12th team or the 12th team does not want to continue, then the 12th team would leave getting the whole deposit. If the majority of teams would accept the new team and the new team would wish to continue to stay, then the 12th team must register as all other teams as well.

12th team Premiership How to decide for the team to play with us:
Today an Arab team contacted me and are also interested to join. I just wished they would have done that earlier and all teams (old & new) could play in 3 Divisions, but it is not as we always wish to be. I still await from Jason/FCFC info about the Malaysian Tigers. For BIFC and Arab team I will also ask for more info and as soon I have new info all Premiership teams will be notified.

IFFC-Rules:
RULE 21:
If a team has more than 3 non-appearance matches during a season then they may face expulsion, in which case all remaining unplayed matches will be counted as a 0-6 loss. However if a team drops out during the first part of the season (September to December) then all matches will be regarded 0:6 to the opponent.

IFFC-Balls:
The IFFC ExCo agrees to buy 10 balls (5 for the Premiership & 5 for the First Division) for game balls. They will be available next week (not this Cup weekend). The IFFC official will take the job to run behind balls and get them back. However if they are then actually lost, then the 2 teams who had used the balls during their match will be charged 50RMB (from their deposit) each so a new ball can be bought.

Social Event:
The IFFC further supports IFFC Social Events in which team invite players from all other teams to take part at their social event. Forbidden City FC & Summer Palace have volunteered to be the next team in charge to organize a social event. As soon the date, time, place and program is organized FCFC/S.Palace will inform the IFFC and the IFFC will invite each team member of each team to join the event.

IFFC SuperCom:
The IFFC SuperCom had a new member: Robin Murray from the Celtics 02 joins the Supervising Committee. Anyone else who is interested to join the IFFC SuperCom is more then welcomed to join.

IFFC Ideas of Rule-Changes for next 11/12 Season (to be discussed in the next SuperCom meeting):
RULE 42:
Original:
For clubs with more than one team, the “A” team must have a minimum of 11 players registered. These 11 players may not play in “B” team matches during the half-season they are registered as an “A” team player.
Changed rule could be:
In the Premiership: All first 11 players registered must minimum have played 5 matches last season for their team and can not play in any other IFFC team.
Explanation:
1. That would make it for all Premier-teams the same as the A teams of clubs who have A & B teams.
2. No more cheating possible as the first 11 must be real team member who regular play

There are other options too possible, you are more then welcomed to write to me and the SuperCom for alternatives or other rule changes.

OK. That is all for now,
Please stay tuned for more news on the website. I am in the process of putting the schedule together for all teams. In case in the recent days teams check up the schedule on the website, please note that all dates, times & fixtures are NOT official yet, unless it's officially announced (for Game 1 & 2 schedule this weekend to be expected).

Keep in touch,

Greetings
Robert Gonnella, IFFC ExCo chairman

SEASON 10/11 Pre-Update 1:

Dear IFFC members and friends,

We all enjoyed a nice world cup in the off season and we are still in the summer vacation. Some teams are not even back in Beijing such as myself ( I just got married with my wife in Germany and will return to Beijing on August 21st) and some teams are in Beijing playing various matches. During this break, the Barbarians’s team leader Richard Collet made an interesting radio interview at CRI (China Radio International) mentioning our IFFC and some of the other teams, here is the link where you can hear it:

http://english.cri.cn/cribb/programs/voices.htm

Now fort he planing for each team, here is some info, the schedule and the dates for the start of the Season 10/11.

I. Registration/number of teams:

We will most likely keep two divisions with 12 teams each, but it remains to been seen how many teams will register and how many new teams will join. Here are the dates for confirming the participation of the season 10/11:

21.August.2010 Confirmation of each member team (of the 09/10 Season)  to participate

31. August.2010 Latest confirmation of the newt teams (must have paid deposit)

II. IFFC Supervising Committee:

The IFFC SuperCom will meet before the season starts and will overwork the rules and regulations for the Season 10/11, check the leagues - cup and super cup competitions and will name the members of  the IFFC Disciplinary Committee (DisCom). Anyone interested to join the IFFC SuperCom or DisCom is more than welcomed. Please contact me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ). The SuperCom shall meet in the last week in August around 24/25.August.2010.

III. IFFC 10/11 T.M. Cup Draw:

Tuesday 24.August.2010 at 8pm at Frank’s Place

All participating 09/10 teams participate, new teams maybe. We also have to see if (some student) teams are back yet able to participate in the first and second round.

IV. IFFC Team manager meeting:

The IFFC team manager meeting shall be scheduled in the first week of September around the September 1st. Location, time and exact date will be announced in end of August.

V. First official 10/11 matches:

28/29.August.2010 IFFC T.M. First Cup Round with only First Division teams and last year’s promoted teams of Kozo Japan and Beijing Celtics 02. All other Premier league teams start directly in the second round.

04/05.September.2010 IFFC T.M. Second  Cup Round

11/12.September.2010 First league matches

OK. This is it for all. As I said, I will be back on the 21st of August in Beijing and from then on please check regularly the updates of the website.

BEIJING BARBARIANS A vs. BEIJING CELTICS 02 2:2 (1:1) 5:4 after penalties

In case next season we deduct the leagues into 10 teams (that's can only be decided when the registration period end of August/beginning of September comes) the last spot given away was decided in this play off between Premiership's 9th rank Barbarians A and the First Division runner's up Beijing Celtics 02 which ended in a penalty shoot out. From the start the Barbarians A had more from the match and missed some real good chances, while the Celtics were always dangerous with their few, but quick and sudden counter plays. In the first half, Barbarians' Kevin Lee 1:0 (7.) was equalized by Celtics 02's Jonny White (31.) for the 1:1 halftime score. In the second half Barbarians team captain Keith Bradbury scored the 2:1 lead (60.) which Celtics 02's Iain Shaw (85.) could equalize for 2:2 five minutes before the final whistle. In the penalty shootout the Barbarians had the bigger nerves and won the match at the end 5:4.
