SCHEDULES ARE ONLINE ! Dear IFFC Members, The IFFC schedules of the second part of the season of both Divisions are finally finished. In the Premiership there are 5 “Sunday teams” in which each one needs to play twice or three times on a Saturday in this second half part of the season. In the First Division, the three “school teams” (Dulwich, WAB & Dragons) all have some weekends where they are not available and matches are being postponed. I contacted each effected team in order to start the negotiations of setting the dates of the make ups. It was not easy to finalize the schedule, but more less most wishes of each teams were more then considered. Please note that each team can from now only postpone once this second part of the season until April 15th. All matches scheduled after that deadline can NOT be postponed. Further let all the IFFC T.M. Cup Quarterfinal participants be reminded that their matches must be played within March 2010. Greetings Rob HAPPY NEW YEAR OF THE TIGER TO ALL Dear IFFC T.M. Cup participants, Due to the late Chinese New Year of the Tiger which official holidays effect the February 20th/21st weekend, the IFFC T.M. Cup Quarterfinals will be postponed. Each side is asked to contact their respected opponent and arrange a date when the match be played. The latest date the match must be played is April 1st. Cheers Rob 09/10 IFFC WINTER 09/10 NEWS: Dear IFFC members, The website was down for some time sorry. Now all remaining match reports and statistics have been edited and can be read. I hope each one of you had a nice Christmas and a good start into the new year 2010. Of course we also wish you a nice Chinese New Year soon. SUPERCOM NOTE FOR THE IFFC WEBSITE: REFEREES At their meeting on 2nd December the Supercom discussed the standard of refereeing at IFFC matches, which they acknowledged was generally satisfactory overall. In an effort to develop the standard of refereeing further Supercom agreed the following :- Currently teams are required to grade the officials after each game. They are also encouraged to comment directly to ExCo about the performance of individual referees - either postively or critically. ExCo pays serious attention to the performance of referees and ehere ExCo deems complaints are justified, will consider appropriate action including occasionally resting or dropping referees. While Supercom commended the efforts of Head Referee Tian Lin in organising the approximately 20 referees and linesmen who currently officiate at IFFC matches the Committee also recognised the potential benefits of attracting a wider pool of referees, with the aim of improving the general standard of refereeing and enabling greater rotation of referees within the Premier and First Divisions. Excom undertook to make enquiries about recruiting and testing more referees and will report back to the next Supercom. Tian Lin noted that the referees in our league are keen to build up their experience and skills in the competitive envioronment the IFFC league offers them. Supercom encouraged ExCo to consider appointing a mentor for the referees to offer them guidance and advice. Exco could advertise for a qualified referee from the foreign expatriate community to take on this role. ExCo agreed to convene a meeting between Committee members and the referees before the start of the second half of the season to discuss their interpretation of the rules, encourage the referee to fully use his linesmen as assistant referees and clarify any other issues relating to play so that team captains could pass this on to their players. Hopefully this would improve communication and understanding between the officials and players, lead to better decision making by referees and fewer disciplinary issues arising during games. NOTICE TO THE TEAM MANAGERS: IFFC MATCH BALLS ExCo wishes to remind team captains that the Home Team (first named team on the fixture list posted on the League website) is responsible for providing the match ball. The home team should hand 2 good quality standard No.5 size footballs to the 4th official before the kick-off. The 4th official shall help to locate the whereabouts of lost balls during the match and return the match ball to the home team at the end of the game.

Cup Quarterfinals February 27/28 will be Game 12 of the league Each team manager please send me the info regarding when they want to play in case of changes and please tell me any weekends in 2010 which your team can not play (like easter).
